What do you think killed REAL R&B music?

I hate todays R&B music I mean its pointless its all about sex or cheating and I cant take it.I grew up in the 1990′s listening to my parents play 1960′s motown and why cant R&B be like that instead of today.Also R&B music seems to not have an audience with black males today and it seems most black males dont like R&B music yet their parents probably have played older music and rappers have sampled old school songs.The history of Rhythm and Blues what mistake did R&B take was it when it mixed with Hip hop or was it when DISCO came out cause there were some stupid songs in the disco era plus it had a huge backlash in 1979 and I loved Motown sound.

btw if you think that Motown did not include songs on themes of sex and or cheating you need to go back and listen again.
